B. ChaosPro is…
Well, ChaosPro is Freeware.
I did not cripple ChaosPro in any way. If you got ChaosPro, you have the full version, no 60 day trial version or something like that.
Use it as long and as much as you wish. Create beautiful images with ChaosPro, sell them, have fun. You may do that without having to pay money to me. Images created with ChaosPro are copyright by you, not by me.
But please note: You must not sell ChaosPro, everybody should get ChaosPro for almost nothing (well, except download costs or CD-ROM-collection costs).
I would be glad if many people are using this program and think that it’s a great program. Of course it would be nice to get some money for it. But fractal programs typically are not used on a regular basis, they are started once in a week, once in a month, just as the user likes. Fractal programs are programs typically used when the user has some time left. They don’t help you do your daily job. And due to this I think that most of the people out there using ChaosPro and thinking it is a good program are not willing to pay money for it, money for a program which is used very rarely. It’s nice to have such a program, but it is not a must.
One note: ChaosPro V2.0 was shareware, but the users were not obliged to pay. The reason why I declared ChaosPro as shareware was the following: I do not know how judges handle freeware: In order to avoid that some company simply takes ChaosPro, reverse engineers the code and resells it under their label claiming that everybody can simply take ownership of freeware products.
Well, if you want a name for this, then I would say: copyrighted freeware.
